It really sucks that someone has to die before those constructors finally listen and change the track. It was a tragic accident, that's very sad, but it wasn't because the "constructors didn't listen and changed the track." They changed the track before this accident several times. It IS a dangerous sport and everyone who does this sport knows that. Nowhere isn't a 100% safety! Even Georg Hackl, who really knows what he is talking about!, said it could have happen on every track in the world! So tragic and sad it is, but it was an accident caused by a mistake by the sportsman. It was said over and over on TV that they told the constructors over and over again that the track was too fast and too dangerous and they didn't make changes. They did them after his death because they had to do so by then. That's what I meant. The interviews with those people responsible were aired non stop here.

Wow, for someone who "couldn't care less about Olympics", you obviously watch a lot of Olympics if you've seen these interviews "non-stop". I guess I have seen a complete different coverage with complete different interviews with people who know what they are talking about, but I stop now.

It has been said that the accident was human error rather than anything the track produced but yea, a little more safety precautions could possibly have prevented the death.

Hmm, another day, another medal - bronze this time. So far, I really like these Olympics ;D I am glad some of our "strong" disciplines are in a little normal time here, so we can see it before midnight. Unfortunately, figure-skating is during night and I am soooo sorry, because at the Olympics, there are the best, no matter what country is the skater from

Lindsey Vonn is a winner. It´s great that she made it, she deserved it. But these falls, it looked awful. One of ours also fell, but both our girls only "tried" it before yesterday so I am glad they are OK. But Anja Pärson´s fall looked horrible. I have to admire them, I wouldn´t be even able to walk down the hill. ;D And did you see how Majdic fell into the hole? What a stupid idea to leave it there like this, especially in the curve (is that the right word?).

I'm usually in bed by 10:00 at the latest (no comments please!). Tried to stay away to watch Shaun's second pass - he was coming up. The next thing I knew I was watching Lindsey Vonn on the medal stand - I fell asleep and missed Shaun's big second show.

I love Halfpipe and all the other snowboard competitions. Snowboard cross the other night was so great and exciting too. I'm glad, Shaun won again, I've seen him 4 years ago in Turin. I hope I can see a repeat of last night's Halfpipe, because it was in the middle of the night here in Europe and I haven't seen it. LOL
I've seen the women's downhill, and it's good that Lindsey won, she deserved it, but I was sad that German Maria Riesch couldn't win a medal (maybe a little bad timing, because she started after Pärson's fall and had to wait etc., not so easy) but I hope her time comes in one of the other races. She deserves a medal. I also hope that Anja Pärson isn't injured and can start again. They said the downhill was more difficult than the men's downhill.

Once again, stayed up specifically to watch one thing - Evan Lysacek in the figure skating. And once again, saw the person before Lysacek skate, fell asleep, and woke up to see the last skater Plushenko making his final spin on the ice.

Congratulations to Torah Bright- our Aussie gold medallist in the Women's Half Pipe Snow Boarding. It probably wouldn't have made the news in the US or Europe, but front page here.

I saw almost nothing from a figure skating - most of it is at 4:00 A.M. And I looked forward to it the most. But I was disappointed this year. I am not too big fan of Plushenko - he is an amazing, phenomenal skater, but annoyed me with his "I want a gold medal" and how thought he is the best no matter what. The points were given strangely and the whole competition was weird. I prefer Weir from US skaters, he seems more elegant than Lysacek. But Lysacek´s parents are Czech(koslovakian) so I should probably prefer him. ;D

You can be proud about those guys who got their medals. I know you are used to getting a lots of medals but countries, same as athletes have bad and good times. I am sure in 4 years, in your Olympics, you will do better. Hey, we have only two medals but I don´t complain, we are a small country after all. And for either of us, the Olympics are not over yet.

Thank you, Klenotka, for your support! Yeah, unfortunately the government didn't invest much into sports in 1990th, so we have what we have now. But of course I hope to see YOU ALL in Sochi 2014!!! Ok? *pancakes with caviar will be there from me)) And of course , my congratulations to USA- team!!!

We have the same problem with our skiing. We have so many skiers but they are not supported enough. That´s why we are successful in smaller sports, where athletes are more as freelancers. Like Martina Sáblíková - she is going everywhere only by herself, only with her trainer. No big team, supported only by her family. Or our medalist, skier, Lukáš Bauer - he also cut himself from a state system. But Olympics are not only about medals and winning. Yes, it´s a great feeling to yell and be happy for a person who wins because it´s for "us". But it´s also a way how you can "defeat" a nation you are not in exactly good relationship in a peaceful way. Call me naive but I think to see athletes from all over the world under one roof, is an amazing thing. There are no differences in sport - just in a color of their dress. I know Olympics became a little too commercial lately but there are still people who are proud just to be there, without any ambitions, but are excited to be at the Olympics.
I am thinking to go to London in two years, it´s only two hours flight and not too expensive. But I am thinking also about Sochi because it´s not that far, too (at least not as far as Vancouver ;D) I just have to find someone to go with me because my dad refuses to go to Russia.
