Compared to the rest of the globe this year, a snow day ain't that remarkable. [sympathy for east coast US] However, North Texas has one for the record books. 12.5 inches since yesterday which is a record. Last time it snowed this much was 111 years ago. It's really, really pretty. Going to stay home and enjoy. Besides, with no salting or plowing 'round these parts there's nothing to do but stay home. I think I'll build a Wolverine snowman!! ;D

What ticks me off is that if it snows in Manhattan, because of all the people and the subways underground the snow is practically all gone by the next day and all the "bosses" that live in Manhattan look at you funny because you couldn't come in because you do NOT live in Manhattan and commute and are buried in snow somewhere in the outer boroughs/suburbia.

I really wish we had a good public transportation system. Two other things that makes it so difficult here, in any weather, is folks don't have a clue how to drive in rain, snow--anything and our highways are almost ALL raised. I can handle driving in foul weather. It's the other idiots that scare me.
