Hi all!! Brand new member here, my full name is Eveline (you can call me Eve or Eveline...whatever you want really ) and I'm 21 years old. I live in Belgium (the Flemish part to be more precise) and I study biology at university. I've been on other forums before, but those were Australian forums about Australian series, films, actors and theatre rather than about 1 actor in particular. I even was an admin on 1 of these forums. I mostly watch Australian drama series, hence I know a lot of Australian actors. Hugh Jackman has always been one of my favorite actors, I've seen every single episode and movie enlisted on IMDb, but Australia is still my all-time favorite movie! Australia was the movie where I fell in love with Hugh when I saw it in 2008. And I would've loved to have seen one of the musicals he did live on stage! Still hoping I get to see him one day. Really looking forward to discovering everything on this board, looks like a great forum!

What Australian drama series do you recommend?

Hi there! If you like period dramas I suggest you watch "A Place to Call Home". The series was unfortunately axed not so long ago, so there only exist two seasons. But it's very good, all such brilliant actors. If you like comedy/drama series more, then I'd suggest you watch "House Husbands", which is now in its third season and a 4th season has already been confirmed. Another great comedy/drama series tells about a criminal lawyer and is called "Rake", very well-written script with great one-liners. There are some great series about war coming up as well, if that's more your thing, called "Anzac Girls" and "Deadline Gallipoli". But those two still need to go to air. If you want more info about 1 Australian show in particular, don't hesitate to PM me! And thanks for the welcome.

Hi Eve
Welcome. Nice to know of someone with an interest in Australian film. Please keep the suggestions coming as they are often so hard to find in the States.

Might I add, eve, that I love your profile photo of choice. Aww thanks. I adore his smile! @ Jamie: Thanks! If you can't find a certain Australian film or series, don't hesitate to PM me! I'm off to upload some Australian articles to Photobucket now as they're too large to upload them directly on this site. I have some great connections in Australia for articles of Hugh. And once I get to my 100 posts on this site and can see and post in the "photos" thread as well, I can upload some great behind the scenes pictures of someone I know who's close to Hugh. Because I don't think those can be found on the site yet. You'll have to be a little more patient though as I'm not even close to my 100 posts yet.

Who could resist Hugh's adorable smile?! I'm setting up some albums in Photobucket (have never worked with it, so it's a ll a bit new to me) and I'm uploading the articles into those albums as we speak, will hopefully be able to post the albums somewhere. I'll probably make an album called "random" as well, because there are some random articles that I don't know where they belong or where to post them. So I'll probably put them all in one album named "random" (any other name suggestions are welcome as well ) on Photobucket.

Goedenavond, welkom, Eve....well, there go my four lessons of Dutch...(and I have no idea what is the difference between Dutch and Flemish in this simple line ) I am glad there is someone else from Europe here I actually visited Belgium a few times, and the European HQ of the company I work for is in Antwerp (so I will have it forever associated with work! ) It is a fun place here, and the best part is that you can say openly your opinion, even when it is an upopular one. So when you dislike some of Hugh´s movies, you can say so, without being threatened by a hord of angry fangirls I am personally more of "British" fan, I like everything British and I guess Australia could be included into it a bit but I love many Aussie actors and I grew up on a few Australian TV shows. I think I was obsessed by "Police Rescue" for a while So welcome, and have fun

Aww so sweet of you! There isn't a real difference between Dutch and Flemish, just the pronunciation is totally different. Oh that's great, next time you're in Antwerp, PM me! I live near Antwerp. Yeah I've already seen this is a great forum and I love all the members on here, they're all so welcoming and helpful. I really appreciate it! There are some great British series as well! And I also love Brits in general. Oh Police Rescue was indeed a great series, a lot of brilliant/legendary Australian actors starred in that show. Got any favorite Aussie actors then? And do you know Stingers?

I adore Kate Blanchett. She doesn´t pretend anything and is a great actress. Also, Claudia Black is brilliant, unfortunately not too well known.

Claudia Black turned up in an episode of Haven recently. I seem to remember she was rumoured for Van Helsing many years ago. I have an old australian TV series on my "watch" list - "Luke's Kingdom" which is a 1970s period drama about an english family settling in the outback as "squatters".

Cate Blanchett is indeed brilliant! Claudia Black doesn't ring a bell, but after checking iMDB, I can see that she's mostly busy in the US nowadays, so that explains why I don't know her. Though I must've seen her in an episode of NCIS.
"Luke's Kingdom" must be great, because it has some fantastic names in its cast. I've never watched it myself though, I hardly watch any Aussie series that were made before the 90's.

Claudia Black is best known for Farscape and Stargate, to me anyway. She was great in Farscape but she did also a theater and I met her last year at a convention. what an interesting lady.
