Here's after midnight in Europe. I never party, and my firm belief is that being in a crowd is dangerous on many levels. Happy New Year Everyone!

Ah, a happy new year to all of you. It's been 2010 here for some couple of hours already, I have drank a lot of gin, and now I am going to bed.

May the upcoming year outdo the outgoing one in all positive respects.
Viviani, I'm with you. I've lived in the New York City metro area all of my life and I've never gone to Times Square on New Year's Eve. It looks way too crazy for comfort.

A Happy and Healthy 2010 to all! Now....do we say Twenty-Ten, or Two Thousand Ten?

A Happy and Healthy 2010 to all! Now....do we say Twenty-Ten, or Two Thousand Ten? We say the latter. Happy New Year to all of you, too. I hope it started better for you than it did for me. I just love neighbors partying until 3 a.m., being obnoxious loud and listen to music as loud as on Ballermann 6. And today I woke up to snow and one of my wisdom teeth obviously loving to bully its neighbor. -.- Year just started and I already have enough of it.

I've heard a few TV newscasters say "twenty ten." I guess that phrase constitutes fewer syllables and would seem to roll off the tongue better. But I'm withholding judgment until I gather more evidence.

Happy new year everyone - I just got up - went to bed at 10:00 (I could blame the cold I have but I can never stay up until midnight, I'm such a dud) and it's now 8:30!! I've heard all the newspeople so far say twenty ten, although if they all said two thousand nine, I don't know what the big deal is with saying two thousand ten.
Only tourists to go Times Square on New Year's Eve - you wouldn't get me near there with a ten foot pole. It was impossible to walk in the city on Wednesday since they were starting to set up barriers and there were already thousands of people, and I'm not even that close to Times Square - I think I knocked a few people over trying to get to the subway.

I've lived approx 15 miles from NYC my whole life and have never spent New Years Eve in Times Square. Part of me would like to go just once, but don't think I could deal with the craziness.

Happy New Year to all! I didn't quite make it to midnight, but that's ok. I still had champagne to celebrate. Hopefully this year will bring a lot of pleasant surprises to all of us (Hugh wise) hee hee! Hey, rubyvale, I'm afraid some of my wishes are the same as yours. There might be a conflict there! LOL hop hop hop!

Hey, rubyvale, I'm afraid some of my wishes are the same as yours. There might be a conflict there! LOL And I know exactly what kind of wishes you mean! What is there to do to avoid the conflict?
