Message Previews
Before clicking on a topic, mouse over the subject. A box will popup with a preview of the message inside! This can save you time and help you navigate the forums you visit more quickly.
Report to Moderator
We are happy to announce the release of our new fully featured Report to Moderator system. This new feature allows any registered user to report a post to moderators with ease and allows moderators to quickly take action on reports.
You’ll notice at the bottom right of all posts there is a new “Report to Mod” link which you can click to report the post. This gives you a quick and easy way to report any issue without needing to message a moderator. You will be prompted to enter a reason for your report, after which it will be submitted off for the forum moderators to handle.
All moderators will have a message display on their screen with any active reports for boards they moderate. They will be able to view all reports that need to be handled, discuss them with other moderators, and easily take action if needed. For instance, moderators can easily move threads, lock threads, delete posts, delete threads, warn members, or ban members.
Okay, so the preview feature is pretty self-explanatory and doesn't require much input from me.
However, before anybody gets carried away with clicking on the new "Report to Mod" feature - please use some thought when clicking on this. If the post is truly offensive in any way (I take it upon you to realize when something is meant to be funny versus serious), could be something that could easily start a flame war, is against the ProBoards Terms of Service or anything that constitutes spam, by all means, report it if you feel you need to. Otherwise, if you simply object to someone's thoughts, please do not use this feature. If it's something you're not sure about, report it if you wish, but please do your best to explain to the mods your reason for reporting it. If there is any abuse of this feature, I will have to reconsider your membership here.
Thanks!
K.
