I'm going to be implementing some changes TODAY, in regard to the rules of this forum. There will be one (1) open forum (I will let you know which one) that everyone can view. This is to give guests a feel for the forum and decide if they want to join. We have too many members who join to see what the place is all about and then never post, and in a lot of cases, never return.
Therefore, I'm going back to the "no lurkers" policy. If you don't have any intention of posting, please don't register. We like different voices here. We encourage everyone's point of view, so don't be afraid to jump in.
Also, in regard to the photo boards - I am going to complete my update of them in the next couple of weeks. However, I'm changing the number of posts needed to view those boards to 500. If you're a regular contributor here you will have no problem.
If you've been a member for more than 3 months and haven't posted once even to introduce yourself, then you will be banned. There will be a thread in these general "guest" boards called "If You've Been Banned" where you can post as a guest and can let me know you'd like to be reinstated as a member; However, if you still haven't posted once after another 3 months, you'll be banned again.
More later.
K.

I've been around for about 2 or more years, and I like the site as a news, photo and video source - particularly for those that are geo blocked from their sites - . Personally, and probably culturally, I am not into the bickering of who seats where, who cries... etc, so it is less than probable that I will engage in most of the discussions. And probably will never reach the 500 mark. For an outsider, it is pretty obvious that you guys come way back, and many even met personally, and I think that is GREAT. But you are a tough crowd to crack into, a dynamic one have to respect and in a broad sense might be the reason many won't engage in the board. Or as we say in Spanish: Calladita me veo más bonita ( With my mouth closed I look a lot cuter). Just my two cents.

Or as we say in Spanish: Calladita me veo más bonita ( With my mouth closed I look a lot cuter). Just my two cents. Well, I thank you for your comments, first of all. The thing is, there's very little bickering that goes on here, so if that's deterring people from posting, that's just an excuse if you ask me - we discuss all things related to Hugh pretty much, and anyone is free to jump into the conversation. There are so many threads on this message board, there's no way that bickering is keeping people from posting - there's too much else to read here. There's no denying that some of us have "known" each other from various other message boards, but we're good fans. If people just lurk and never post, how are we supposed to get to "know" them? It's not fair to assume that there's some sort of clique going on and people aren't paying attention to new posters, because that's not true. There are plenty of regular posters who were new to all of us and they've fit in just fine with everyone else. Also, there's the problem I have had several times in the past where people register, pretend they're going to be part of this forum, only to steal the photos from here and post them other places. This is another reason for the posting requirement. Having said that, I was thinking of actually lowering it to a more reasonable number of posts; however, because of that reason alone, that I know people will continue to register in order to take whatever they can get and never contribute, it still has to be something like 50 posts or more. I also feel like I shouldn't have to reward members who have no intention of posting with photos. It's always curious to me that people register, make one visit to this forum and then never return - and I can't help but think that it's because they've realized they can't get those photos, so they don't come back, otherwise, it's pretty strange to register at a private forum you have no intention of ever reading again. Someone like you, who does lurk here I have no problem with, at least you're coming to the forum on occasion, but there are several members who registered and have never come back after registering. I encourage everyone to post. Believe me, there are many of us here who would LOVE to hear input from new people. Not that we don't love the people here who do post; but in order for a community like this to grow, there have to be new people coming in and adding their opinions to the discussions.

Okay, I've made the posting requirements 50 post to view the photo forum. I still don't feel like I should have to reward people who don't want to contribute to this forum with anything, especially something I've spent a lot of time on, like those picture threads, but I do realize 500 posts was a tough goal to meet.
