For those outside the UK, you can listen to the concert from the palace live on line at this link www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01jg7f4It will be two hours and not all performers have been announced but do include Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John so should be a good show.

I'm having one of those damp eyed patriotic nights. Loved the concert but hoped Hugh might pop up somewhere! Alfie Boe was superb. A handful of crap acts but loads more acts were fantabulous especially Tom Jones and Stevie Wonder (not at the same time). And boy oh boy can we do the light shows and fireworks to beat the best of them. *wipes eye with Union Flag hankie*

I gave up on it not long after Shirley Bassey. The problem with having everyone sing their greatest hits was that it highlighted that most of them were past their best. Tom Jones was good and Grace Jones was quite something but so many of the rest seemed to have vocal problems.

We're getting what I imagine to be a highlight show this evening, so Paul McCartney, Elton John and Stevie Wonder will probably be featured. At least Macca has an excuse if he doesn't sound up to par - he's turning 70 this month.

A lot of them were that old and although they weren't bad for their age, they're not as good as the used to be. Tom Jones 71 Shirley Bassey 75 Cliff Richard 71 Annie Lennox 57 Grace Jones 64 (but she was amazing for any age) Elton John 65 Paul McCartney 69
It was ok-ish but I remember the Golden Jubilee concert as being much better.

Stevie Wonder is 62 - he's a youngin'. LOL. I don't think I realized Grace Jones was in her 60's. That's pretty remarkable and she looks fantastic for her age, anyway. I have difficulty in thinking that these people ever age for some reason. I remember when Bruce Springsteen turned 60 and I was shocked - "Bruce Springsteen is 60?" Was the Golden Jubilee the one where Paul McCartney sang "Her Majesty"? I thought that was cute.
