Or something. I have a little bump near my elbow, and it was itchy, so I scratched it and now it's all red and burns.
Just thought you'd want to know.
If I die, Mindi, & LT get all my Hugh pics.

I will totally swap you the itchy red thing for the looming possibility of that stomach upset that's trawling around my family right now.
Do. Not. WANT.

I think I'll just spray myself in the invisable bubble so I don't get cooties from either one of you.

My stomach is gurgling... O.o
I'm really hoping that's just from the carbonated beverage I had earlier...

I think I'll just spray myself in the invisable bubble so I don't get cooties from either one of you. Well, it's not itchy anymore but there are little red dots. Man, I have little [[petechia]] on my arm. I have [[thrombocytopenia]]. I know it. See, this is why I hate my job. Nah, I imagine it's just a reaction from scratching some sort of bug bite, I guess. Stoopid bugs.

"Doctor, I think I have thrombocytopenia!" "OK, you do know that's just a mosquito bite, right?"

I'm sure you have petichia because you scratched yourself raw- breaking teeny capillaries. But if your gums start to bleed too, I'll be happy to do a free platelet count on you. If that's low, I'll throw in a bone marrow aspiration as a bonus and we'll see what's going on.

No need to do a bone marrow to prove iron deficient anemia. Need your Hgb/Hct, RBC indices, seum iron.
Feeling a quart low? Do you pop multi-vitamins? Can't hurt.

I did a report today on a girl with IDA, and she had to have a bone marrow aspiration, so that's why I said that. They did a CBC when I had my physical for my job, so they probably would have told me if I had anemia. Or at least I hope they would have. My mother keeps trying to get me to take multi-vitamins, and I probably should. They also did a drug screen, and I'm pretty sure that came back negative too, since I don't actually do drugs... ...even though I probably act like I'm on something most of the time.

Yeah, they'd resort to the bone marrow look see only after you had unexplained anemia. If you were iron def, they'd give you supplements. If you didn't respond or there were other indicators they would consider a BMA. I'm sure your drug screen was fine (despite appearances They were motivated to insure that was negative and you wouldn't be working if they'd found anything.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was negative because they hired me. I felt really bad as I was typing because this kid can't tolerate the supplements, oral OR IV, so she's got real problems. It's like her body is totally rejecting iron in any form. And I really shouldn't be talking about this because HIPAA will come after me.
