Since Lyndsay asked me about this, I thought I'd post this for everyone.
The problem with ProBoards is that you can't just sign up for a general email notification anymore, that is to say, it won't automatically email you when new threads are posted. However, you can be notified of new responses to threads you've posted in, or are interested in following.
First off, your account has to be set at activated in order for this to work. If not, you won't get any notifications at all. I cannot activate an account if it wasn't activated when you joined, so you're out of luck, if that's the case. If you still have an email from when you signed up, you can probably still activate your account, but if not, I'm not sure how to do that.
At the top of each thread, next to "search" there's "bookmark". If you click on this, it will bookmark the thread for you. Then if you go to the menu bar at the top of the page, and click on profile, you'll get options at the top of the profile, one of which says "bookmarks". If you click on this, it will take you to a list of threads you've bookmarked. On the upper right side you'll see "manage bookmarks". You can select options for each thread you've bookmarked, from the drop down menus. Change those that you want notification of to "email" Under that, is a default setting which you can change to "email" and you'll get email notifications of all future threads you've bookmarked.
For threads you start, you can check "Bookmark" under the text box to be notified of responses to that thread, but only after you've set the default setting to "email", as I explained above.
Hope that helps! If anybody has trouble with this, just let me know.
