My son and daughter both did Birthright trips in subsequent years; I'd love to return someday soon. My daughter couldn't care less about going with me, but she can't wait until she's 18 to go on Birthright. My nephew went last year and loved it. I guess it's a completely different feel when you go with your peers.

Oxana, I hadn't realized your trip was to Israel. Glad you had a good time despite becoming ill towards the end. Makes me nostalgic for our family trip in '98 with my daughter's bat mitzvah ceremony atop Masada. We toured all those cities, too, except Eilat. I am a natural yogurt freak, and the hotels in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv had the best, freshest Mediterranean-style yogurt I have ever had. The Dead Sea, Tiberias, the Golan (in a bumpy jeep across what a field that used to have landmines), Lake Kinneret and of course Jerusalem were amazingly beautiful. How wonderful that you'll be returning this fall. My son and daughter both did Birthright trips in subsequent years; I'd love to return someday soon. well, I'd love to return this fall, but I'm not sure, because we never know ) I posted an album of pictures on Facebook, so you are welcome to see them ) I've never been at Bar Mitzvah before, so it was a really great expirience for me and moreover it was David Berg's Bar Mitzvah, who is a grand son of Rav Berg that's why it was so special for me. There were a lot of people at the event, but I felt like if I was a part of that big loving and supporting family. I wish one day all the people on Earth feel like that and become a one soul and all the chaos would be removed from this entire world. That's my biggest dream.

So my mum finished a chemo last month and goes to the hospital tomorrow for a radiation therapy. She will be in the hospital five days , at home at weekends, and it all during six weeks. So fingers crossed because this should be the final treatement to get that damn thing. We won´t know she is healthy till the very end. But my mum is a village girl so the only way you can tell she is ill is her hair loss - otherwise, she is my old good mum

So my mum´s biopsy results came and it´s malign Now we just have to hope in the best - that they will cut it out and then it will be OK. She goes to the oncological clinic next Monday so we have to wait what they are gonna say her... So sorry to hear that! Life isn't fair... My thoughts and prayers are with you.

A rotavander ran over my uncle's foot before Easter leaving him with several broken bones, a compound fracture and several lacerations ending in 5 - 6 hours of surgery. He's currently back home but has to visit weekly to have his dressings changed and for them to check gangrene hasn't set in as he has diabetes.

Droversgirl, I'm very sorry to hear about your uncle's injury. I hope he heals quickly.
Is a rotavander an operator of some kind of motorized vehicle or perhaps the vehicle itself? I've never heard of that word.

That's how much gardening I do--I never heard of a rotavator either. Thanks for the new word. In any case, I hope your uncle recovers soon.

All I know is when I was a kid, we had a huge backyard, and my mother decided she wanted to plant a vegetable garden, and our neighbor had a rototiller and he cultivated the soil for her and she got all excited about it, LOL. Droversgirl, I also hope your uncle recovers soon.

I've been in bits the past 2wks because I was facing a court hearing on 6th August to repossess my house. I have managed to get it cancelled by convincing the mortgage company to recalculate the payments. What a relief!! My head is now back in a moderately happy place! ;D
