well....if anything, he will get a lifetime achievement award in 20 years or so I hope so. Of course I hope he wins an Oscar outright, but there is no shame in not having the right luck or timing for that to happen. In which case a lifetime achievement award would be nice. Better than if he gets neither. Sorry, I'm having a rare cynical moment, re Chappie. No reviews yet is not a good sign. Well, if nothing else, he's looking great for the promo tour.

I won´t deny it, I cried. Star Trek was one of the first science-fiction shows (western) that aired here after 1989. In fact, it was TNG in 1991. But we were lucky enough to buy a satellite and so I grew up on German TV...watching Star Trek in German, made me love TOS and til these days, I can remember Spock´s German dubbing He was such an icon...not just for Star Trek. I saw him in a few movies as well, and as a fan, I found some of his other work. But as silly as it may sound, as a sci-fi fan, a Trekkie, I feel as if I lost a very good friend. Crazy, heh? This has been a crappy, damn month...I have been sick on and off since the beginning, then the insane shooting of a mad shooter in a small town in Moravia where a couple of my friends live....I will be relieved when March comes and maybe even a little a bit sunshine along with it Sorry...I am sick (flu and antibiotics) and depressed...

The news of his passing saddened me, too. I went to several Star Trek conventions back in the day. By all accounts, he was a class act in every respect.
I hope you feel better soon.

First teaser trailer for new Mission Impossible movie is out. I loved the previous movie, especially since the team was great and stayed more or less intact for this one, I can´t wait. I am also excited that Simon Pegg´s role is gradually bigger and bigger I love him And I think Tom Cruise discovered some way how not to age. I still really don´t find him too appealing as an actor or a man (physically, I mean) but he just can pick good movies. And I think he is immortal

I was watching Paint Your Wagon again today. Released in 1969 when Clint Eastwood was 39 and Hugh was a one year old. The resemblance is remarkable.

I think I have to be one of the only people that doesn't see much of a resemblance in Clint Eastwood and Hugh. I feel like they have a lot of the same hairdos in things, but I have a hard time seeing it...

You and me, deanamarie. I just don't see it either. I see it in the roman nose, the eyes and forehead. Clint doesn't have the warm smile or the eye twinkle, but I did a full image search and there were some on the page that you would swear it was Hugh.

Agree that it depends which photos one is viewing. Around SWORDFISH time Hugh (and his hair) seemed to resemble the young Clint in certain photos. The resemblance has somewhat faded away, I think.
Wasn't there an anecdote about Hugh and Deb's looking at items in a garage sale and finding an old photo of Clint that Deb would have sworn was of Hugh?

Yes while he is still very handsome, Hugh has aged out of that "pretty boy" phase of his 30s. Since I prefer men whose faces have been lived in for a while so you can see their histories for good or ill engraved, this is a definite improvement

I've been a fan of David Duchovny's since the X-FILES (which Matt Lauer mistakenly referred to as "X-Men" on the Today show this morning, LOL). I learned only yesterday that Duchovny has recorded an album of his original songs. He's not bad: sharetv.com/watch/920801

Sheesh! I can't imagine Hugh would be so dumb - or arrogant - to think he could get away with that.

I thought it was a normal thing that when you take a pet with you to a foreign country, you need some papers with you for them. Did he think he could get away with it? I don´t know...but to kill two innocent dogs seems a bit harsh to me.

Now the minister of agriculture is threatening Depp with up to 10 years' imprisonment! I sincerely doubt that would ever happen.
