Yeah, Tiger Beat too... Ah, the innocent days. David Cassidy was # 1 though.

As to Hugh "pulling it all together", Davy Jones started his career in theater as "The Artful Dodger" in the musical Oliver. You Tube has this video from a rare black and white TV appearance of him dancing and singing:

Someone on the other board knew Davy and posted a pic of them together. He had a very sweet face and unthreatening demeanor, which is probably why so many girls felt he was a "safe" crush. I remember liking him on THE MONKEES but was torn in those pre-VCR/DVR days because GILLIGAN'S ISLAND was on at the same time! I like to think my taste has improved since then.

Yeah, Tiger Beat too... Ah, the innocent days. David Cassidy was # 1 though. Uh huh, had his poster on my wall too. Remembering this stuff, I have to laugh. We had one of those 'club' basements that was the kids' hang out room with TV, turntable[pre-stereo], games, etc. At the bottom of the stairs was my 'love' wall. Everytime my poor dad decended the stairs for his workshop on the other side of the basement, he was subjected to my poster collection. I haven't changed much. I have a 'love' wall in my home office. I've since narrowed my 'loves'.

I hadn't seen that second photo, thanks. During my '06 visit to Oz, I went to a koala park outside Sydney that also had some very charming wombats--not babies, though. Adorable!

My 13-year-old niece is in the front row of a concert for a pop singer that I know nothing about but she is freaking out with happiness. I can't help but draw the comparison with a group of people somewhat older.

Not sure where to put this, but don't know how to start a new thread so put it here. HUGH'S BIO IS OUT Just finished reading-it's by Anthony Bunko and available through a UK online seller OODALS.com. I received it here in Australia a week after ordering and with free postage. Cost about $29. Amazon US didn't have it available till December, but if anyone wants to get it earlier, try UK sites. Its a positive and easy to read history of H's life, a few minor typos and innacuracies, some nice photos and overall a pleasant surprise. Cheers

Nifty--enjoy your sneak peek. I'd be surprised if there weren't any inaccuracies. Looking forward to reading the book.

Did anyone else watch Doctor Who yesterday and cried like a baby? I think Steven Moffat has be the most cursed person in the UK (and, obviously, not just there) right now

Yes and I did cry. I got a bit confused about dates, though.

Loved it. Boo Hoo'ed. Glad they didn't kill off the Ponds but gave them a great life even without the doctor. Totally enjoyed the River Song line, "Wait till my husband gets home". Now to wait until Christmas .... Expletive deleted!!!!

I hope everyone in the path of the mammoth storm descending on the East Coast of the US stays safe. We're battening down the hatches and hoping that falling trees and floods stay away from our door. Good luck to everyone.

Fully prepared to not go to work for at least two days (I assume the office will be closed tomorrow since there's no transportation, have to wait until 7:30 to call in for the announcement, at least I won't have to take a PTO day!).
I'm dreading the thought of possibly no power - I have an electric water heater so that means no hot water/hot showers! And heaven forbid - no internet access!!!!
Stay safe everyone.
