About Spiderman - Wow! But good move. I prefer my Peter Parker younger and living at home with Aunt May. The may lose some box office but they can bring costs under control. The only problem is they have to go for a summer 2012 release or lose the rights, which isn't great for other comic book movies aiming for that summer.

I saw A Single Man with Colin Firth last weekend. It was a good and a bit artsy. I don't think it was ever released mainstream in the US and not sure about it's international release. I'll be checking out The Lovely Bones this Saturday.

Colin Firth (who I've loved Since Bridget Jones Diary) is on the short-list for a Best Actor nomination.

My mother and I were both very taken with Colin Firth in Another Country and Dutch Girls. The we forgot about him until Pride and Prejudice.
Dutch Girls was about a group of boys on a school exchange trip to The Netherlands. Timothy Spall was in it, too. How old was he before he stopped playing schoolboys? (ETA: He'd have been 24-25 playing 17-18 in those two).

I think I have loved Colin Firth since I was able to notice something like a movie and an actor in it ;D He was especially cute in Love Actually.

I have a better one - I saw him in Nanny McPhee - IN THE THEATER! Love those whimsical movies... he was so cute in that.
Didn't care for him too much in Mamma Mia! but that may have been the movie...

To me there's no other Darcy than Colin Firth. Hated, hated, hated the totally unnecessary P&P remake with Keira Knightly and that pseudo-Darcy, Matthew MacFayden. He's about as appealing as a damp rag.

He's about as appealing as a damp rag. I'm with you on that one. So far as iconic Darcys go he spawned an entire definition on the topic. I started watching the Keira Knightly re-make when it was on TV over christmas and declared it sadly inferior rather quickly...

So the guy that played Spock in the recent Star Trek movie may be playing Gershwin in a Spielberg movie. AICN seems to think it's an actual musical, but Nikki Finke who had the supposed exclusive doesn't really say that. And Spielberg would be directing this one!

Why can't he direct RS? Oh how much safer I would feel if it were in his hands.

I don´t think Zachary Quinto is so good actor. When I watched ST, I kept seeing Sylar from Heroes. He has a collection of faces which he is using. But he can suprise, as always. But I doubt this movie will be made. Spielberg has so many projects he wants to direct that I think even he doesn´t know what to do next. My suggestion would be a musical (or a biography) with Hugh. ;D

For some reason, whenever I see Zachary Quinto's full name written out, I always skim-read in my head it as 'Squinto'
This has now become his default name around my household.

Big shocker of the day: No X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE on the Best Picture Oscar nominees list, LOL.
But I was surprised not to see STAR WARS, as it was such a popular, rousing adventure. I thought they'd make up for the lack of THE DARK KNIGHT last year; guess not.
